Two months into the new year, and the layoff/buyout total stands at 1,031+ jobs. Only 218 layoffs were added in February — “only” because it is, without a doubt, a much slower pace than the past two years.

• The Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin
• The Onion
• Whitehorse Community News
• Berkeley Daily Planet
• The Sentinel
