“About 15″ newsroom employees were laid off, according to a story on the Tribune’s website. The story says most of those laid off were editors and managers. Spokesman Gary Weitman declined to comment on the layoffs: “The Chicago Tribune does not publicly discuss internal personnel matters. Like most companies, the Tribune make decisions about staff skills and composition based on customer needs and business conditions.”
