Layoffs are expected. The union agreed to $10 million in contract concessions, including a 5.9 percent pay cut, 8 unpaid furlough days, freeze on pension and 401(k) contributions, and an end to lifetime job guarantees. The current 23 percent pay cut, put in place after the last union vote in June, will end next week and be replaced by the 5.9 percent pay cut.
